Copywriters at Lone Fir Creative are hands-on production positions where you will create, edit and deliver high-quality content that serves our client’s needs and works to exceed their expectations.
We’re currently looking for an individual with a strong desire to sharpen their copywriting skills in a range of applications, but primarily within the context of long-form and blog content. In addition to a knack for writing compelling, clear and impactful copy, this position also requires a sharp eye and attention to detail. Ideal candidates will showcase an advanced ability to proofread text and correct spelling, grammar and punctuation errors.
You’ll combine your existing skills and a great collaborative environment to create high-quality, impactful, engaging content. You will be challenged every day, and you will develop the skills and a track record that you can be proud of!
NOTE: This IS a remote position.
The Junior Copywriter and Copy Editor will report to the Director of Content and work alongside other Copywriters to create engaging, effective content for our growing set of clients. Within the content team, you will primarily own the research, ideation and development process of all blog content. This includes everything from keyword and topic research to data-driven and SEO friendly content outlines.
Ultimately, you’ll gain valuable experience in the strategy behind content that is served to the right people, in the right place, at the right time. You’ll quickly become a dangerous copywriter and feel confident in creating data-driven content that generates traffic for clients.
Complete all copy assignments in a timely manner and communicate with all team members to ensure project efficiency.
Ensure all content aligns with the audience search intent, as well as client goals and objectives.
Implement identified keywords within copy organically and seamlessly.
Assist in using relevant SEO tools to perform keyword research and develop data-driven topics for blog content.
Proofread text and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors to ensure quality for final content.
Verify factual correctness of information, such as dates and statistics. Check all copy for consistent style, readability and adherence to client editorial guidelines.
Arrange long-form content and blog page layouts to organize relevant photos, backlinks, CTAs, etc., in accordance with client requirements.
Deliver all work to the client on or before deadline, free of technical errors within the copy.
Constantly learn and sharpen skill set with an attitude of complete ownership of your role and think to continually improve your area of work.
You're highly organized, detail-oriented and are often bothered when things fall through the cracks — you stick to timelines and communicate frequently.

You’re a grammar nerd. Improper grammar never gets past you, and you have an eye for catching and correcting mistakes.
You’re amazed and fascinated by how words can move a customer and strengthen brand loyalty. You dive deep into industry blogs, and you understand how to write in both an informative, entertaining and persuasive manner.
You possess a strong ability to think on your feet and seek answers when they are immediately unclear.
You have some comfortability writing copy for web pages, emails, ads, and other similar short-form copy
You are willing and eager to fully participate in our project management systems and internal platforms (includes Asana, Slack, G-Suite, Zoom and more)
2 - 3 years of copywriting/content writing experience, preferably with long-form content such as blogs, eBooks, white-papers, etc.
1 - 2 years of experience with SEO strategy and implementation (keyword research and topic ideation, content writing around keywords, etc.)
Background in the technical aspects of the English language (e.g., grammar, syntax, spelling, etc.) This can include training in journalism, English, proofreading, editing or other similar experiences.
Experience with the Inbound Marketing methodologies
Proven success working remotely
Comfort and familiarity in popular software including but not limited to: HubSpot, Asana, Slack, Google Apps, and any other marketing and email automation software.
