Our designers work predominantly on web-based projects improving user experiences. In this role you’ll consistently implement best practices for top-notch user experiences, build innovative wireframes and user flows, while presenting designs, that clients can’t get enough of.

NOTE: This IS a remote position.

 

MORE ABOUT THE POSITION

The UX/UI Designer will work in conjunction with the entire production and client management team. They are primarily responsible for designing strategy fueled UX/UI optimized wireframes and mockups with best practices in mind, on deadline.

It is imperative that the UX/UI Designer have the fundamentals of client communication down, and are able to convey the rationale behind their design choices and back it up with real data. They’re able to work closely and effectively with clients to achieve a shared vision.

UX/UI Designers are part of a design team, and actively assist with other deliverables when web-based work is light to ensure that the entire team is successful. This may take the form of e-books, print advertisements, branding deliverables, email creation, etc.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

CREATE CONVERSION OPTIMIZED DESIGNS. The UX/UI Designer is responsible for working with Marketing Consultants and Inbound Marketing Specialists to create user focused, conversion optimized designs. The main objective is to assist in the user’s journey, and display content in a pleasing manner to influence the user to convert. Within their team, the UX/UI Designer will maintain and improve retainer client websites, as well as tackle new website projects as needed. Designs will follow the grid system utilized at Lone Fir Creative, and should be designed with responsiveness in mind. If done successfully, the client will receive beautiful, conversion optimized, and responsive-friendly design compositions that exceed their expectations. Development will then be able to easily code the design using best practices, and without having to make alterations.

QUALITY ASSURANCE OF DEVELOPMENT. The UX/UI Designer is expected to assist with QA as needed. They are responsible for ensuring that the final developed product matches the client approved mockups; checking for things such as spacing, font size, colors, etc. If done successfully, all work is delivered to the client on deadline and there are no errors on any browsers/devices, and the design is exact in comparison to the client approved mockups.

HAS A “TEAM FIRST” MENTALITY. The UX/UI Designer is responsible for working with the rest of the production and client management teams to complete marketing activities as needed. If web-based design work is not readily available, the UX/UI Designer will be expected to assist with any activities possible. If done successfully, all client work is completed on time and is of the highest quality.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT. The industry of web design and digital marketing moves very fast, therefore it is critical that the UX/UI Designer spends time regularly to improve their skills. Areas of focus include design and UX/UI trends, tactic effectiveness, client communication, agency trends and best practices, management, and coding languages. If done successfully, the UX/UI Designer is learning at a rapid rate, pushing their teammates to improve, and drive the value they bring to the agency.

REGULARLY CONTRIBUTES TO THE AGENCY’S CONTENT STRATEGY.We are our own best client. To uphold that standard, we must do as we advise clients to do. The UX/UI Designer will contribute to the overall content strategy of the agency through (but not limited to): written blogs, pillar pages, videos, webinars, etc. If done successfully, content assignments will be completed on deadline and will contribute to organic web traffic and subsequently leads for the agency.

  • Highly organized! You are detail oriented and are often bothered when things fall through the cracks or if digital assets aren’t properly organized - your agenda/timeline skills are organized to a "T"

  • You live and breathe in the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator

  • A portfolio of real-world client work that shows us what you’re made of (We can’t wait to see it! But, please no student work.)

  • You're amazed and fascinated with the industry, always trying to improve your knowledge and experience. You dive deep into industry blogs and you know that nothing beats taking action from what you learn.

  • An ability to turn the client's goals and our own user research into clean interfaces and design.

  • Comfortability in wireframing, moodboarding, and user-flow mapping.

  • Solid knowledge of UX principles, including best practices, understanding how to conduct user research, and where to apply data into the design process

  • Fully participate in our project management systems and internal platforms (includes Asana, Slack, G-Suite, Zoom and more)

 

Bonus For

  • Experience with HubSpot (Marketing, Sales, or Service Hub) or the StoryBrand framework
  • Proven success working remotely

  • StoryBrand Framework

  • Inbound Marketing Methodology

  • HubSpot Marketing, Sales and Service platforms

  • Figma or Sketch

  • Web Development (CSS, basic HTML, WordPress)

  • Comfort and familiarity in popular software including but not limited to: HubSpot, Asana, Slack, Google Apps, and any other marketing and email automation software.
